A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE VETERANS!

 There is not enough words or expressions to express our gratitude & indebtedness to all the  Veterans and servicemen and woman who put their lives on the line for our freedom. A sincere Thanks to all servicemen and woman.

 Veterans Day is the official United States holiday which honors people who has served in armed service also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday observed on 11/11.

Louisville has several traditions to honor veterans and some of the businesses offer special deals on Veterans Day. Here are just a few of the events going on around Louisville to honor our veterans and servicemen and woman.

Annual Veterans Day Parade, Monday 11/11/2013 with 80+ units and starts, 11:00am at 4th and Chestnut, then to 4th and Main, then along Main to 6th St. This is the 3rd year for the Veteran's Day Parade downtown. For some 60+ years there has not been a Louisville Veterans Day Parade until a group of volunteers revived the ceremony on November 11, 2011. (11/11/11). 

Fourth Street Live! There will be a USO Canteen style party at Fourth Street Live, beginning after the Parade and continuing through the afternoon and evening.

The Frazier History Museum Veteran's Day Celebration. General public admission is $5.00 all day while Veterans and active Military get free admission.

PATRIOTS PEACE MARATHON. This is where a single runner completes a 26.2 mile race while holding the American Flag asa tribute to the country's fallen soldier. At the end of the race, the American Flag is given to a veteran as a symbolic act of thanks. This event starts at 11:11am at Jefferson Memorial Forrest and finishes at the Patriot's Peace Memorial with the flag folding ceremony at 4:30pm.

Area Restaurants:  Several of the local restaurants pay tribute to those who fought for our country with discounted meals and in some cases free meals. Some of the restaurants include Denny's, Chili's, Applebee's, Outback, just to name of few.
